Expertise and qualifications

Having written about football (and the odd bit of tennis) for over a decade for websites including ESPN and the official Davis Cup and Fed Cup sites, and for print publications including the Daily Telegraph and When Saturday Comes in the UK and Howler in the USA, I’m well versed in the tone and technicalities of writing about sports – and I would love to help you polish your sports book or magazine.

My other areas of interest include travel, literary fiction, crime fiction, history (in particular piracy, the slave trade and the Age of Exploration – well, I did grow up near Bristol …) and religious traditions around the world. I have lived in Argentina since 2010, so if you’re writing or publishing something on Argentina or Latin America as a whole, I know the region.

I am bilingual in English and Spanish, and while I don’t proofread Spanish, if you have a text that’s been translated into English and want it looking over by someone familiar with the nuances of the original language, I’ll be happy to help. Similarly, if you’re a Spanish speaker writing in English, you might want a revision from someone familiar with those little errors that even highly competent second language speakers make. I’m your man – I’ve been there myself, many times!

I’ve worked on books with UK sports publishers Pitch Publishing, as well as on a number of academic essays.
